General Accountant

The General Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely reporting. This role supports Playscape’s growing operations across campuses by maintaining financial integrity, supporting management decision-making, and ensuring efficient accounting processes. Will report to Accounting Head

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, including general ledger entries
• Record and reconcile daily transactions (income, expenses, bank movements)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments
• Monitor accounts receivable, tuition payments, and outstanding balances
• Coordinate with admin/enrollment teams on collections and billing concerns

Payroll & Compliance Support

• Assist in payroll computation, deductions, and releases
• Ensure compliance with statutory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, withholding taxes)
• Prepare reports and schedules required for government agencies

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

• Prepare and assist in filing monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, or tax consultants when needed
• Ensure compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements

Budgeting & Financial Monitoring

• Assist in budget preparation and expense tracking
• Monitor variances and flag concerns to management
• Support financial planning for school operations and events

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
• Recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes
• Support audits and internal reviews

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
• At least 2–3 years experience as a General Accountant or similar role
• Knowledge of Philippine accounting standards and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• May Report to branches BGC and Rockwell and office in Quezon City
