General Accountant

Role Overview

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting management through timely financial reporting and analysis.

In a restaurant environment, the role also ensures proper monitoring of sales, inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and cash flow to support operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting

● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet,Profit & Loss, Cash Flow)

● Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

● Analyze variances and provide explanations to management

2. General Ledger Management

● Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

● Review and post journal entries

● Ensure proper account classification and recording

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight

● Monitor AP and AR balances

● Ensure timely recording of payables and collections

4. Bank & Cash Reconciliation

● Perform monthly bank reconciliations

● Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies

● Ensure proper recording of all bank transactions

5. Tax Compliance

● Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, withholding taxes, etc.)

● Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (e.g., BIR requirements)

● Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants

6. Audit Support

● Assist in internal and external audits

● Prepare supporting schedules and documents

● Ensure compliance with audit requirements

7. Process Improvement & Controls

● Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes

● Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements

Pay: Php25,000.00 - Php30,000.00 per month
