General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant is responsible for the financial tracking functions of the company. The overall function is to track the financial transactions of a company to create accurate financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the work in progress of all projects and reconcile with billings and collections
• Monitor, review, and analyse collections efficiencies and make decisions on delays, discrepancies and issues
• Review billings to clients as prepared by AR Staff
• Ensure all billings are sent to clients in a timely manner
• Ensure all revenue billings and corresponding collections are timely, completely, and accurately recorded
• Review and analyse Monthly Accounts Receivables Ageing Schedule
• Identify, review, and monitor all expenses and disbursements transactions and ensure timely, complete, and accurate recording
• Monitor and prepare schedule of payables for payments
• Ensure timely and proper month end/year end closing activities
• Perform monthly General Accounting activities including depreciation recording, amortization analysis, accruals recording, payroll entries, and bank reconciliation

About you

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• At least five (5) years' experience in a supervisory or assistant manager-level position
• At least 5 years relative experience in all facets of accounting
• Knowledgeable and experienced in management financial reporting
• Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft applications and other enterprise resource systems (ERP)
