General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant is responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) transactions, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of payments and collections, and proper reconciliation of accounts. The role supports the Finance and Accounting Department in maintaining reliable financial data and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue sales invoices, billing statements, and other supporting documents
• Monitor customer accounts, outstanding balances, and aging of receivables
• Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate with relevant departments regarding collections
• Record and reconcile customer payments, deposits, and other receivable transactions
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts
• Prepare accounts receivable aging reports and collection summaries
• Verify supplier invoices, purchase orders, delivery receipts, and other supporting documents
• Process supplier invoices and ensure proper recording and timely payment of obligations
• Monitor accounts payable schedules, due dates, and outstanding balances
• Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related field
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in general accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable is preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software or ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential financial information responsibly
