General Accountant

Company Description

Ritual Matcha Co. imports and distributes high-quality matcha from Japan for bulk and wholesale customers. The company primarily serves foodservice businesses such as cafés, restaurants. The company also supports matcha brands through white-labeling solutions.

Role Description

The General Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Metro Manila. This role is an opportunity to own the books of a growing trading company, keep it compliant on taxes, and help build its finance function as it scales.

Your role would include the following:

• Post and validate sales and expenses in QuickBooks Online daily, with complete supporting documents for every entry
• Process supplier payables and employee reimbursements weekly, including withholding tax and BIR Form 2307
• Reconcile bank deposits and withdrawals weekly, prepare the weekly cash position report, and complete month-end bank reconciliations for all company accounts
• Record inventory movement, reconcile inventory against the finished goods and raw materials masterlist monthly, and prepare the wastage report
• Close and liquidate all supplier, employee, and founder advances at month-end
• Prepare and file BIR returns on schedule, including 1601-C and the quarterly Summary List of Sales and Purchases (SLSP)
• Prepare the year-end annualization of withholding tax on compensation and the annual inventory list
• Run the annual fixed asset count and tagging, and keep the fixed asset register reconciled to the books

Qualifications

• Accountancy graduate with bookkeeping and tax experience; CPA is an advantage
• Familiar with BIR requirements and Philippine tax filings
• Detail-oriented and proactive in solving problems before they arise
• Effective and empathetic communicator with partners, contractors, and internal teams
• Comfortable using QuickBooks or similar accounting software and Excel/Google Sheets, and willing to learn new tools as needed
• Experience in trading, F&B, or an inventory-heavy business is an advantage
