General Accounting Assistant (Fixed Asset)

About the role

The Fixed Asset Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate records of the hospital's fixed assets, including medical equipment, office equipment, furniture, and other property. The role supports proper asset recording, monitoring, reconciliation, depreciation, and reporting in accordance with accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register and supporting documentation.
• Record acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and other fixed asset movements.
• Monitor capitalization of hospital equipment, facilities, and other qualifying assets.
• Calculate and record depreciation and assist with monthly closing activities.
• Conduct regular physical inventory and reconciliation of fixed assets.
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Engineering, and other departments regarding asset movements and documentation.
• Assist in the tagging and identification of fixed assets.
• Prepare fixed asset schedules, reports, and reconciliation documents.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
• Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in fixed asset accounting or general accounting; fresh graduates may also be considered.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles, particularly capitalization, depreciation, and asset reconciliation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain accurate financial records.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an advantage.
