General Accounting Specialist- Makati

JOB SUMMARY

The General Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This role involves reviewing all invoices for proper documentation and authorization prior to payment identifying and resolving discrepancies in invoices and supporting documents and maintaining accurate financial records. The specialist also plays a key role in monthly and annual financial closings ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Payment Processing

• Reviews and validates disbursement transactions, recommends payments, reconciles accounts payable records, and coordinates with suppliers to resolve discrepancies while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and approvals.

Monthly and Annual Financial Closing

• Prepares and posts month-end journal entries, reconciles key balance sheet and fixed asset accounts, and assists in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements.

Other tasks

• Supports continuous improvement of accounting processes, assists with audits and tax compliance, participates in inventory counts, and performs administrative tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Education, Training and Licenses Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting
• At least four years relevant experience in general accounting financial accounting audit or management accounting. Experience in SAP or Oracle is considered an advantage.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a PLUS
