GENERAL ACCOUNTING SENIOR ANALYST

Compensation: Php 60,000 - 70,000/month

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accounting Senior Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex accounting activities, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing financial reports, analyzing accounting data, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and providing guidance to junior team members. This role is ideal for accounting professionals with strong technical accounting expertise and experience working in a BPO or Shared Services environment supporting global stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General Ledger Management

• Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations.

• Review journal entries and supporting documentation prepared by team members.

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial transactions recorded in the accounting system.

• Monitor and analyze general ledger balances and investigate variances.

Month-End and Year-End Closing

• Lead assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

• Ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with the financial reporting calendar.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues impacting close activities.

• Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, allocations, and adjusting journal entries.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare financial reports, balance sheet schedules, and management reporting packages.

• Perform account analysis and variance explanations for key balance sheet and P&L accounts.

• Support statutory, internal, and external audit requirements.

• Assist in preparing reports required by regional and global finance teams.

Reconciliations and Compliance

• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.

• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready records.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.

• Participate in finance transformation, migration, and automation initiatives.

• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Support continuous improvement projects within the shared services organization.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with local, regional, and global finance stakeholders.

• Provide accounting guidance and support to business partners.

• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned processes.

• Participate in governance meetings and client discussions when required.

Team Support and Mentoring

• Support onboarding and training of new team members.

• Provide guidance and coaching to junior analysts.

• Assist Team Leads and Managers with workflow monitoring and process execution.

• Serve as an escalation point for complex accounting issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a BPO, Shared Services, or multinational environment.

• Experience handling Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.

• Strong background in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Experience supporting international entities is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, IFRS, or US GAAP.

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
