About the role

We are seeking a General Accounting professional to join CHOOK AND ROOS SPORTS BAR in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our business. As General Accountant, you will be responsible for managing our day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting management with timely financial information to drive informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and processing daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense claims
• Reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all entries are correctly classified and recorded
• Preparing monthly financial statements and reports for management review
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Processing payroll information and ensuring compliance with employment regulations
• Conducting regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Assisting with budget preparation and variance analysis
• Supporting the financial audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies

What we're looking for

• A recognised accounting qualification or diploma in accounting, financial accounting, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in a general accounting role, ideally within the hospitality or food and beverage sector
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and the accounting cycle
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial information
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements in Bali or Indonesia is advantageous
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential
