General Assistant

About the role

Thermae by Aluume is a floating sauna and cold plunge at Queenstown Marina, Frankton. We're growing the team with permanent and casual General Assistant roles available, with full-time and part-time hours, rostered across mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, based at Thermae, with potential crossover to our sister site, Bathe by Aluume on Brecon Street, as and when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and check in guests; run reception, bookings and POS
• Introduce guests to the experience: sauna, steam and cold plunge etiquette, session times, hydration and safe use
• Keep an eye on guest wellbeing and capacity across the pools and heat rooms
• Open the site: pre-opening checks, pools and heat rooms up to temperature, every space guest-ready
• Close the site: shutdown, final reset and laundry, EOD support, site secured and handover done
• Service and reset the saunas, steam room, cold plunge and change rooms between sessions
• Keep towels, robes, amenities, water and light refreshments stocked
• Hold the standard, with every space clean, considered and well presented

About you

• A warm, professional manner and a calm head on a busy shift

• An eye for detail and pride in a well-kept space

• Comfortable on your feet in hot, humid and cold environments, and around water

• Available across mornings, afternoons, evenings (through to close), weekends and public holidays

• The legal right to work in New Zealand

• Hospitality, wellness or spa experience helps, but attitude and consistency count for more
