General assistant vacancy working primarily in our skate hire department, at our busy roller skating venue, at Skate central, Sheffield, S2 4DF. This vacancy has arisen because of an increase in demand for our services.

Skate central is located close to Sheffield city centre. Although it is primarily open to the public for roller skating it also hosts regular boxing events, roller hockey, ball hockey and roller derby tournaments.

We are looking for a flexible, hard working and enthusiastic general assistant to work in various departments, but primarily in skate hire, the right candidate will have the opportunity to train in all aspects of the venue.

The role involves serving customers in our skate hire department and general cleaning duties.

We are offering regular hours (not zero hours) but due to the type of work that we do, evenings and weekends, you must be flexible to work at short notice and it can include early starts and late finishes. The set hours each week will be on a rota basis of: Week 1 Fridays from 6:30pm until approximately 10pm and Saturdays 1:30pm until approximately 5:30pm Week 2: Saturdays and Sundays 1:30pm until approximately 5:30pm

Starting hourly rate is minimum wage during a period of training, with regular pay reviews.

Minimum age 16 years.

You will need to demonstrate that you have:

Excellent customer service skills

The ability to work alone and also as part of a team

Be willing to help in all aspects of the venue

Be physically fit and have a hard working attitude

All training provided

Must love cleaning !!

Flexibility will be required to cover holidays, work at short notice and cover events, which will include evenings and weekends
