General Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the catering team in preparing, cooking, and serving meals, ensuring that residents’ dietary preferences and requirements are met with care and professionalism. The ideal candidate will uphold high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety at all times, contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents.

Duties

• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals, including Apetito pre-made meals and texture-modified or puréed options as needed.
• Support the catering team in ensuring all meals meet residents’ individual preferences and dietary needs.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
• Contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen operation.
• Support with general kitchen duties as required to ensure smooth meal service delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering or food service environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene standards and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Flexibility to assist with various tasks related to meal preparation and service.
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• An Intermediate or Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate, or similar catering qualification, is desirable.

Pay: From £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 11.0 per week
