General cleaner

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated General Cleaner to join the team at TL Maintenance Services. This is a full-time position based in the Central Region. As a General Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining clean, hygienic, and welcoming environments across our client properties. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly contribute to creating positive spaces for our clients and their customers, whilst supporting the overall operations of our cleaning services division.

What you'll be doing

• Performing daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of floors, walls, and surfaces
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, kitchens, and other facilities to maintain high hygiene standards
• Emptying and replacing waste bins and recycling containers
• Cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
• Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively
• Restocking cleaning supplies and reporting when supplies are running low
• Following established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure consistency
• Responding to specific cleaning requests and addressing spillages or damage promptly
• Maintaining a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure tasks are completed to standard

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a cleaner or in a similar cleaning role is preferred but not essential
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
• Willingness to follow health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment correctly
• Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if required
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe handling is advantageous
