About the role

H2O Pipelines Ltd is seeking a General Labourer to join our team in Drury, Auckland. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing organisation in the trades and services sector. As a General Labourer, you will play a vital role in supporting our pipeline and infrastructure projects, contributing directly to the successful completion of our operational objectives. Your work will be physically demanding yet rewarding, providing you with the chance to develop practical skills whilst being part of a professional team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of work sites, ensuring they are safe and organised
• Support skilled tradespeople in the installation, repair and maintenance of pipeline infrastructure
• Perform manual handling and lifting tasks as directed by supervisors and team leaders
• Operate and assist with the use of hand tools and light machinery in accordance with health and safety procedures
• Assist in the excavation, backfilling and compaction of trenches and work areas
• Help with the transportation and unloading of materials and equipment to designated work areas
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools and equipment
• Follow all health and safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents immediately
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of project completion within agreed timescales

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a general labourer in a construction, trades or similar environment
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour duties regularly and safely
• A valid driver's licence (essential for travel to various work sites)
• Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards health and safety practices
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and willingness to develop competency with machinery
• Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 awareness and commitment to safe working practices
• Preferred qualifications include Level 1 Health and Safety induction certification and any relevant trade qualifications or experience in pipeline work
