Compensation: $200,000+

A well-established, growing professional service industry company with more than 500 employees is seeking an experienced General Counsel to serve as the organization’s senior in-house legal leader.

Based in Los Angeles , this is a hands-on, in-person role for an attorney who can provide practical legal guidance in a fast-paced business environment. The General Counsel will partner closely with executive leadership and oversee a broad range of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on litigation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the company’s primary legal advisor and partner to executive leadership
• Manage and oversee litigation, disputes, claims, and outside counsel
• Develop litigation strategy and proactively identify and mitigate legal risk
• Advise on employment, commercial, regulatory, and general corporate matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other business agreements
• Provide practical guidance to leadership on day-to-day legal and operational issues
• Develop and maintain policies and processes designed to reduce legal exposure
• Manage relationships with outside counsel and ensure effective management of legal spend

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership and good standing
• 5+ years of legal experience
• Significant litigation experience required
• Strong knowledge of California law and experience advising businesses operating in California
• Experience managing outside counsel, litigation strategy, and complex legal matters
• Strong business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and operational objectives
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and working directly with senior executives
