General Ed Para

Assists teachers in the district classrooms by performing a variety of duties designed to carry

out individual student education and positive behavioral support programs.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma required.

2. Prefer successful experience as a paraprofessional in a professional setting working with

children.

3. Ability to work well with young children who are at-risk, disadvantaged or who have

special needs.

4. Ability to read, comprehend written material, and write at a level sufficient to assist in

student instruction.

5. Must be flexible and self-directed in a variety of situations.

6. Must demonstrate patience and compassion.

7. Must be dependable and dedicated.

8. Must be able to work under supervision of a classroom teacher.

9. Demonstrate ability to work with others in a positive, productive way.

10. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the

community while projecting a positive image that enhances the school district.

11. Demonstrate the ability to keep confidentiality in regards to the Family Privacy Act.
