General Handyman

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of various facilities and equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike. Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on building interior systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment.
• Conduct carpentry tasks such as repairs, installations, and modifications to interior fixtures and structures.
• Utilize hand tools and electrical equipment repair skills to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
• Maintain facilities equipment by performing preventive maintenance and addressing breakdowns promptly.
• Repair and service plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and drainage to ensure optimal operation.
• Carry out painting tasks for residential or building interior maintenance to uphold aesthetic standards.
• Read schematics and technical diagrams related to electrical systems, HVAC units, or mechanical components for accurate repairs.
• Supervise or assist with projects that require leadership or coordination with other team members or contractors.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing residents’ or tenants’ maintenance requests professionally and promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in general maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), with a strong foundation in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC system repair.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated systems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
• Skilled in using hand tools, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, and other maintenance equipment like welders.
• Mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical equipment repair and building interior maintenance.
• Strong understanding of facilities maintenance procedures including HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance and repair, painting, and general building upkeep.
• Supervising experience or leadership skills are desirable for overseeing small projects or junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and customer interactions.
• Valid certifications related to electrical work or HVAC systems are advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $24.87 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
