General Helper / Packer

Print Field: Packaging (Folding Cartons)

Location: Woodbridge (Hwy 427 / Hwy 7)

Overview

The General Helper / Packer supports the finishing and packing operations in a folding carton manufacturing environment. This role involves inspecting, counting, packing, and preparing finished cartons for shipment while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Duties

• Pack finished folding cartons according to job specifications and customer requirements
• Inspect cartons for defects such as misprints, glue issues, damage, or incorrect folding
• Count, bundle, strap, and label cartons accurately
• Assist operators at folder-gluer and finishing lines as needed
• Stack packed cartons onto skids/pallets safely and neatly
• Apply labels, corner boards, and stretch wrap when required
• Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)
• Follow all safety procedures, GMP, HACCP, and plant policies
• Report quality issues, equipment problems, or safety concerns to the supervisor
• Operate warehouse equipment safely to move materials within the facility
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to promote a safe working environment
• Conduct quality checks on products and packaging to meet company specifications
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets efficiently
• Assist with general housekeeping and other duties as assigned

Skills

• Previous experience in print folding carton manufacturing or warehouse environments is highly desirable
• Forklift certification is a strong plus
• Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with assembly tasks and troubleshooting
• Proficiency with hand tools for assembly, packaging, and minor repairs
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in packing and inventory management
• Familiarity with warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation
• Good physical stamina; ability to stand, lift, bend, and move throughout shifts

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs (23 kg)
• Basic math and counting skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends if required

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 44.0 per week
