General Laborer

Position Summary

American Boring Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to support underground utility and horizontal directional drilling operations. This position involves physical, hands-on work assisting with excavation, material handling, job site preparation, and supporting field crews on underground utility construction projects. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and willing to work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.

Essential Duties

- Assist with trenching, conduit installation, pipe placement, and backfilling operations - Load and unload tools, materials, and construction equipment - Support drill operators, equipment operators, and utility crews on job sites - Operate hand tools and small construction equipment safely and effectively - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment - Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations - Perform general labor and construction tasks as assigned by foreman or management - Assist with traffic control, site cleanup, and material handling as needed

Qualifications

- Previous construction or underground utility experience preferred but not required - Ability to safely operate hand tools and small equipment - Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn - Ability to work effectively in a team environment - Must be safety-conscious and able to follow directions - Ability to pass a drug screening - Clean driving record preferred

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds - Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on uneven terrain - Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Outdoor construction and underground utility job sites - Exposure to changing weather conditions and physical job site environments - Fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere
