General Laborer / Pipe Layer

Broadwater Excavation is hiring General Laborers and Pipe Layers to start immediately. We are a heavy civil excavation contractor doing MDT, federal, and municipal earthwork and underground utility projects across Montana.

What you will do: lay and bed water, sewer, and storm pipe in the trench; shoot grade with a laser and check pipe elevations; set up and work inside trench boxes and shoring; hand dig around existing utilities; spot and signal for excavators and loaders; place and compact bedding and backfill; help with erosion control, fence, and general site cleanup; keep tools, pumps, and small equipment running.

What we are looking for: pipe laying or underground utility experience preferred but we will train a hard worker who shows up every day; able to work outside in Montana weather and lift 50+ lbs; comfortable working in and around trenches and heavy equipment; valid driver's license and reliable transportation; able to pass a drug screen; willing to travel and stay out of town for jobs. OSHA 10, competent person, or Class A CDL are a plus and bump you toward the top of the pay range.

Pay and benefits: $30 to $40 per hour depending on experience, with overtime available. Prevailing wage plus fringe on public projects. Per diem and lodging covered on out of town jobs. Health insurance. Safety gear provided. Steady public works backlog and room to move up to operator or foreman for the right person.
