General Labourer

Summary of Position:

The Labourer is responsible for assisting with the loading and unloading of pipes and other materials from trucks, trailers, and storage racks within the yard facilities. This position requires physical strength, attention to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Loading and Unloading:

· Assist with loading and unloading pipes and materials from trucks, trailers, and storage racks using manual labor and equipment as needed.

· Ensure proper handling and stacking of pipes and other materials to prevent damage and ensure efficient use of storage space.

· Work efficiently to meet loading and unloading schedules and deadlines.

Material Handling:

· Transport pipes and materials within the yard facilities using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.

· Assist with inventory management by accurately recording movement of pipes and materials and reporting any discrepancies to supervisors.

· Ensure strict adherence to HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

Yard Maintenance:

· Assist with general yard maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, sweeping, and organizing storage areas.

· Ensure the yard facilities are kept clean, organized, and free from debris to maintain a safe working environment.

· Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors.

Team Collaboration:

· Follow Supervisors instructions and work closely with other yard personnel, including operators and technicians, to coordinate material movements and prioritize tasks.

· Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.

· Provide assistance and support to other team members as needed.

Experience & Education Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or similar environment.

· Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.

· Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

· Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
