General Labourer

Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Labourer. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support construction, maintenance, or production activities. This position requires physical stamina and a willingness to work in various environments, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and safely.

Duties

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks on the job site.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals effectively.
• Perform heavy lifting of construction materials and equipment
• Operate and maneuver a wheelbarrow to transport materials around site
• Assist with digging, trenching, and other ground preparation tasks
• Conduct construction site cleanup, including debris removal and organization of tools and materials
• Load and unload materials and supplies from trucks
• Follow all health and safety regulations on-site
• Support skilled tradespeople as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
• Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools as needed for various tasks.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition by cleaning and performing minor repairs.

Skills

• Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of construction techniques or labor practices is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow directions accurately and work well within a team environment.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing job requirements.

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor construction sites in various weather conditions
• Standing, lifting, and walking for extended periods
• May require early mornings or extended hours depending on project needs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Gloucester, ON K1J 7S6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
