General Labourer

DDG Group is a groundworks and construction company delivering a range of projects across the construction industry. We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and professionalism across all of our sites.

We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join our team and support our site teams with day-to-day groundworks and construction activities.

The Role

As a General Labourer, you will work alongside our groundworkers, machine operators, supervisors and other trades to help ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working outdoors, carrying out physical work and working as part of a busy construction team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting groundworkers and other trades with daily site activities
• General site labouring and manual handling
• Moving, loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Assisting with excavation and groundwork activities
• Helping with the preparation of areas for drainage, foundations, concrete and other groundworks
• Digging and backfilling where required
• Assisting with concrete pours and other construction activities
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy and free from hazards
• Setting up and maintaining site barriers and working areas
• Using basic hand and power tools where appropriate and authorised
• Following instructions from Site Supervisors, Foremen and Project Managers
• Complying with all site health and safety procedures
• Wearing the required PPE at all times
• Reporting any hazards, defects or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor
• Assisting with other reasonable site duties as required

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working on construction or groundworks sites, although training may be provided for the right candidate
• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Be physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Be able to follow instructions and work safely
• Have a positive and professional attitude
• Be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Understand the importance of maintaining a safe and tidy working environment

A valid CSCS card is essential.

Additional construction qualifications or tickets would be advantageous but are not essential.

Pay: £130.00-£160.00 per day
