General Labourer – Facilities Management

Trent University is seeking a reliable and motivated General Labourer to join its Facilities Management team. The successful candidate will provide general support with the maintenance, operation, and upkeep of university buildings, facilities, and campus grounds.

This position is well suited to an individual who is dependable, physically capable, comfortable working in a hands-on environment, and willing to assist with a variety of day-to-day facilities tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Facilities Management staff with general maintenance and campus operations
• Move, transport, and arrange furniture, equipment, supplies, and other materials
• Assist with room setups, relocations, events, and other campus activities
• Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep as assigned
• Assist with grounds maintenance and seasonal campus activities
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment safely
• Maintain work areas, storage spaces, and common areas in a clean and organized condition
• Assist skilled trades and maintenance personnel with routine tasks when required
• Follow established health, safety, and workplace procedures
• Perform other general labour and facilities-related duties as required

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and adapt to changing weather conditions

Pay: $23.60-$26.35 per hour
