General Labourer / Workshop Assistant

Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer / Workshop Assistant to join our small team at JP Spraying in Poole.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering preparation work, packing, stock organisation and general workshop duties. You will also occasionally deal with customers and deliveries, so we are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable speaking with people.

Previous experience working in a workshop, manufacturing, engineering or paint preparation environment would be beneficial.

Duties

• Preparing customer parts ready for painting and coating
• Sanding, masking, cleaning and degreasing components
• Packing and protecting finished parts ready for collection or delivery
• Loading and unloading customer parts
• Accepting and checking incoming deliveries
• General customer interaction when customers are dropping off or collecting work
• Organising paint, materials, consumables and general workshop stock
• Monitoring stock levels and keeping storage areas organised
• Using a forklift to move materials and customer parts
• Assisting sprayers and other workshop staff when required
• Cleaning the workshop and maintaining tidy working areas
• General labouring and workshop duties
• Following company health and safety procedures

Experience

• Previous relevant workshop or manufacturing experience
• Valid forklift certification required
• Experience with preparation, sanding, masking or similar work would be an advantage
• Reliable and punctual
• Good work ethic
• Comfortable carrying out physical/manual work
• Good organisational skills
• Good attention to detail
• Comfortable dealing with customers in a polite and professional manner
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
