General Labourer/Driver

Duties, Responsibilities & Key Tasks:

• Comply with the company’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Move materials by forklift and overhead crane as necessary.
• Transport goods to subcontractors and customers
• Load and unload materials/tools from deliveries ensuring relevant paperwork is checked and submitted to the office.
• Ensure products are safely positioned in the relevant area ready for fabrication or machine operations.
• Remove swarf from machines and floor areas as necessary.
• Forklift truck maintenance checks
• Clean and tidy all areas inside and outside Machine Shop.
• Grinding and fettling of fabrications
• Additional duties may be required within job holder’s area of competence to fulfil the company’s needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education / Qualification:

• Fork Lift License
• Secondary School Education or equivalent

Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Inventory Management

Technical Skills:

• Overhead Gantry Crane
• Banksman Slinger
• Manual Handling
• Strong Verbal & Written Skills

Position Details

• Hourly rate of £13.88 per hour
• Shift Pattern – Day shift with possibility of nightshift when required (nightshift rate £17.35/hr)
• 4 day working week
• 7:00 am – 4:45 pm – Monday to Thursday
• Overtime paid at the following rates:
• Monday to Saturday - £20.82 per hour
• Sunday - £27.76 per hour

• full, clean driving licence (required)
