General Ledger Anayst

Overview:

The General Ledger (GL) Analyst is responsible for the completion of day-to-day accounting functions of assigned Vivant Energy Corporation (VEC) Company relative to compiling, analyzing, and posting financial information in an accurate, complete and timely manner. He/she also prepares month-end account reconciliations to ensure that both General Ledger balances against Subsidiary Ledger balances against Subsidiary Ledger balances are accounted for and variances are valid reconciling items.

Job Description:

• Processes journal entries, allocations and period-end adjustments
• Performs SAP internal reconciliation at GL level
• Generates monthly SAP trial balance for submission to FMR
• Prepares and analyses the monthly balance sheet accounts and processes the necessary adjusting entries within the closing period
• Coordinates with respective point person(s) on aged items to ensure these are addressed prior to the month-end closing
• Ensures compliance with accounting standards
• Assists in external audit activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations
• Contributes to process improvements by adopting to modern technology and challenging current business practices
• Ensure complete and proper documentation for all endorsed entries
• Organize accounting files, both physical and electronic, and ensure proper endorsement to group records custodian

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy or Management Accounting
• At least 2-4 years of relative experience
• Familiar with the various areas of a similar operation in a medium-size company for the effective presentation and analysis of accounting data
• Has basic knowledge in Philippine Financial Reporting Standards and Basic Philippine taxation laws
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications(Excel,Word,etc.) and accounting software and ERP systems (SAP)
• Ability to work across multiple business units and manage deadlines.
