General Ledger Manager

We are looking for an General Ledger Manager with strong hands-on accounting experience to lead General Ledger activities and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

The ideal candidate combines managerial capabilities with a practical, hands-on approach, actively participating in day-to-day accounting operations, month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee General Ledger accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Take a hands-on approach to daily accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and/or local GAAP requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate audit-related activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Finance, Tax, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other relevant teams.
• Lead, develop, and support the General Ledger team while maintaining direct involvement in operational accounting tasks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in General Ledger accounting, preferably in a multinational company or Shared Services Centre (SSC/BPO).
• Previous experience in a General Ledger Manager, Accounting Manager, or Senior GL Accountant role.
• Strong hands-on accounting experience, with the ability to perform and review operational accounting activities independently.
• Solid knowledge of month-end closing, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Good understanding of IFRS and/or local accounting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or a similar platform.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience in team management or coordination.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
