General Machinist/Precision Engineer

We are looking for a General Machinist/Precision Engineer to work in our busy Tool Room that makes and repairs tools for our in-house presses, where we manufacture back plates for a variety of vehicles. Press Shop and Tool Room established in 2011 and undertakes work for three companies within our group.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Friday. **NO SHIFT WORK**

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Machining Plates to drawings;
• Surface Grinding Dies and Punches;
• Turning one off jobs;
• Tool Repair;
• Ad-hoc projects for in house maintenance and protypes;
• Document and update tool repair history and other work records.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Work to engineering drawings;
• Be innovative in terms of problem solving;
• Knowledge of machining to tolerances using various methods;
• Competent in: Manual milling, drilling, turning, surface grinding, MiG welding.

Desirable but not essential as training can be provided:

• Wire Eroder;
• CNC (Fanuc Controls).

HOURS OF WORK:

Monday-Thursday 7:15-16:30 (30 min unpaid lunch break) and Friday 07:30-13:00. Total 40.5 hours per week

PAY: Starting at £15.00-16.50 per hour (£31,590-£34,749 per annum), dependent on experience and practical ability. Please state your salary expectations when applying.
