Job Summary

The General Maintenance Assistant is required to have a basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC. They enhance the security of the physical property as well as providing a visible presence of security to our team members, visitors, and residents. They must be able to identify, troubleshoot, and correct problems. A valid driver's license is required. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, on call rotation and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle safely
• Interact with Nursing Team Members to investigate security concerns
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical equipment, including commercial laundry equipment
• Assist with the removal of snow and ice, as directed
• Interact with Team Members, Residents, and Guests in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed
• Complete all documentation per facility protocol and Standards of Practice

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC skills and prior experience required

Good communication skills

Basic computer skills

Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
