General Maintenance

Gentara Company Ltd. is a locally owned and operated commercial real estate company with properties throughout St. John’s and surrounding areas.

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and versatile General Maintenance Worker to join our property maintenance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of indoor and outdoor maintenance duties across our commercial properties. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general indoor and outdoor property maintenance.
• Carry out seasonal duties, including snow clearing, ice control, lawn mowing, and landscaping.
• Safely operate snow blowers, chainsaws, lawn equipment, and other small power tools.
• Complete minor carpentry, painting, plastering, and general property repairs.
• Assist with maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of commercial properties.
• Identify maintenance issues and assist with repairs as required.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate seasonal demands, particularly during winter weather.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's licence with a minimum of two years of driving experience.
• Comfortable and capable of operating a pickup truck.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Physically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power equipment.

Additional Assets

• Previous experience in commercial property maintenance.
• General carpentry and handyman skills.
• Painting, plastering, and minor repair experience.
• Fall arrest training.
• Experience operating snow removal and landscaping equipment.

Position Details

• Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility required for seasonal maintenance and snow removal
• Work Environment: Combination of indoor and outdoor work at commercial properties
