General Maintenance Lead

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive General Maintenance Lead for our warehouse located in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The ideal candidate with a specialized focus on modular assembly and shipment preparation. This temporary, fulltime role is responsible for assembling modular unites, performing general facility and equipment maintenance, assisting with shipping and staging of modulars, and ensuring a safe and efficient warehouse environment.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, mechanically inclined, problem solver, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse setting (200,000 sq ft) with minimal supervision.

Modular Assembly & Shipping

• Assemble, configure, and disassemble modular units according to specifications, drawings, or work instructions
• Prepare modular units for shipment, including staging, packaging, labeling, and securing loads
• Inspect modular components for defects, damage, or missing parts and perform basic repairs as needed
• Assist with loading and unloading modular units using material handling equipment or manual methods
• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to meet production and shipping deadlines

General Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on warehouse equipment, modular units, fixtures, doors, racks, and workstations
• Conduct minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs within skill level
• Troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and escalate more complex repairs to appropriate personnel
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in safe working condition

Warehouse Support

• Support general warehouse activities, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas
• Assist with inventory movement, storage, and organization when needed
• Follow work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and safety procedures
• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials properly

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and warehouse procedures
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard‑free work environment
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or property damage promptly

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 4+ year of experience in warehouse maintenance, general maintenance, construction, or assembly work
• Experience assembling or repairing modular units, equipment, or structures preferred
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to read basic instructions, diagrams, or work orders
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, climbing, and walking for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a consistent 40+ hour schedule

Preferred

• Forklift or pallet jack experience (certification a plus, not required)
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or carpentry work
• Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
• Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and manual dexterity required
• Use of ladders, tools, and material handling equipment
• Work is regularly performed outdoors with exposure to environmental conditions.
