Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.

Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony.  The mine's workforce consists of approximately 300 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and does not facilitate FIFO.

The Role

Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, the General Maintenance Officer is responsible for ongoing maintenance, presentation, repair and safe operation of facilities, accommodation, offices, workshops infrastructure and surrounding areas.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

·       Perform general building, facilities, and grounds maintenance across the site.

·       Complete preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure assets remain safe and operational.

·       Undertake carpentry repairs, minor construction works, and general handyman duties.

·       Maintain site presentation through housekeeping, grounds upkeep, and waste management activities.

·       Conduct routine inspections and promptly address maintenance issues and defects.

·       Support site improvement projects and assist with the delivery and collection of materials as required.

·       Work safely and contribute to a positive, compliant, and well-maintained workplace.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential:

·       Experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, carpentry, or a similar trade-related role.

·       Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address maintenance issues.

·       A strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.

·       The ability to manage tasks effectively and work with minimal supervision.

·       A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to assist across a range of site activities.

·       A current driver's licence.

Desirable:

• Trade qualifications in Carpentry or a related field.
• Experience working in mining, industrial, or remote-site environments.
• Relevant licences or tickets such as Forklift or High-Risk Work licences.
