General Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters, and electrical equipment repair techniques.
• Conduct welding, carpentry, painting (including maintenance painting and residential painting), and other hands-on repairs to facilities infrastructure.
• Maintain facility equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, mechanical systems, and other building amenities through scheduled servicing and emergency repairs.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs efficiently.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
• Support leadership in managing maintenance operations by documenting work orders, completing shift reports, and maintaining accurate records of repairs performed.
• Assist with building interior maintenance projects to enhance the appearance and functionality of the facility.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and communicating clearly about repair status.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related field with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
• Skilled in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical issues with schematics, electrical equipment repair, and using testing tools like ohmmeters.
• Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system repair or servicing.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, carpentry tools, and maintenance painting techniques.
• Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical diagrams accurately.
• Knowledge of facilities equipment maintenance including building interior systems and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) procedures.
• Strong communication skills in English for effective team collaboration and customer interaction.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
