General Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a proactive and skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior components to prevent issues before they arise.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose faults accurately.
• Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and general repairs to maintain the integrity and appearance of facilities.
• Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC units, plumbing systems, electrical panels, and mechanical devices through repairs or replacements as needed.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
• Read technical schematics and mechanical drawings to identify issues and implement effective solutions swiftly.
• Support maintenance painting projects for residential or commercial interiors to enhance aesthetic appeal and protect surfaces.
• Assist with the maintenance of plumbing systems including repairs of leaks, pipe replacements, and system upgrades.
• Lead or participate in maintenance projects that require coordination with team members or external contractors to ensure timely completion.
• Document all work performed accurately in maintenance logs and reports for accountability and future reference.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in building interior maintenance, HVAC repair, plumbing system upkeep, electrical work, and facilities maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams; familiarity with electrical equipment repair is essential.
• Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation systems.
• Skilled in welding techniques and the use of hand tools for various repair tasks.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems including troubleshooting, repair, and routine maintenance; certification or experience preferred.
• Ability to operate testing instruments such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics; experience with electrical equipment repair is highly valued.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and facility users regarding maintenance needs or issues.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with maintenance painting techniques suitable for residential or commercial environments.
• Basic understanding of schematics related to plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC controls, and mechanical systems.
• Fluency in English required for clear communication; additional language skills are a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
