General Manager at Kilkenny Cafes

We're looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our two cafes in Kilkenny City. ensuring guest experience, team performance, compliance and commercial standards are met. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and roster the team to deliver a consistent guest experience
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring standards, health & safety and food safety compliance
• Manage staffing levels, attendance and performance in line with company policy
• Support recruitment, induction, probation reviews and ongoing development of team members
• Monitor and control costs (labour, stock, wastage) against unit targets
• Handle guest feedback and complaints, resolving issues professionally
• Act as key holder and ensure the unit is opened/closed and secured correctly
• Escalate people, safety or compliance issues to senior management / HR as appropriate
• As a senior/lead role, this position also carries responsibility for guiding and supporting more junior colleagues on shift and deputising for the manager where needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality/retail
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Working knowledge of food safety, health & safety and licensing requirements
• Comfortable managing rosters, costs and performance conversations
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
