Job summary

We are seeking an accomplished, commercially minded, and strategically oriented General Manager to provide overall leadership and operational direction across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating corporate strategy into operational execution, driving revenue and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute business strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Translate corporate goals into measurable departmental and individual KPIs.
• Provide strategic direction across business functions.
• Identify new business opportunities, markets and revenue streams.
• Support organizational expansion and growth initiatives.
• Monitor industry, market and competitive developments.

Financial & Commercial Management:

• Take responsibility for business performance, revenue and profitability.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets and business forecasts.
• Review financial performance and implement corrective strategies.
• Monitor costs and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
• Drive revenue growth and commercial performance.
• Evaluate major business investments and expenditure proposals.
• Work closely with Finance to ensure effective financial controls.

Operational Managements:

• Oversee day-to-day business operations.
• Ensure efficient coordination between departments.
• Establish operational standards, KPIs, and performance measures.
• Monitor service delivery and quality.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain business continuity and risk-management strategies.

People & Leadership:

• Provide leadership and direction to departmental heads and employees.
• Develop a high-performance organizational culture.
• Oversee talent acquisition, development and retention strategies.
• Conduct management performance reviews.
• Develop succession and leadership-development strategies.
• Resolve major organizational and employee issues.
• Promote accountability, professionalism and ethical conduct.

Stakeholder Management:

• Represent the organization before clients, partners, investors and other stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strategic business relationships.
• Lead negotiations with key partners and clients.
• Prepare and present management reports to the Board/owners.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators and relevant external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• MBA/M.Sc. in Business Administration, Management, Finance or related field is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years' progressive professional experience.
• At least 3–5 years' experience in senior management.
• Demonstrable experience managing teams, budgets, and business operations.
• Proven track record of delivering revenue growth, operational improvement, and business results.
