General Manager

The Board of Directors of Regional Water is seeking a strong visionary

and results-oriented leader to oversee its Public Water and Wastewater Systems for 2,200+ rural users and 16 Communities. Applicants must have demonstrated professional accomplishments in organization and leadership, including staff development, strategic planning, project management, and financial oversight and planning.

Job Summary:

The General Manager (GM) is directly responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors.

The GM shall act as the agent of the Board of Directors; shall act in direct compliance with the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Tariffs, and Resolutions of Regional Water; shall act as liaison and compliance officer for all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies; and shall promote and maintain excellent public relations between Regional Water, its customers, and the general public.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

At the direction of the Board of Directors, the GM will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control the business and operations of Regional Water.

The GM is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, and terminating employees to ensure a qualified and efficient staff. The GM is to initiate and maintain a sound program for employee welfare, wage & benefit policies, safety and job training, delegating specific responsibilities and corresponding authorities and coordinating their activities into an effective organization.

The GM will keep himself/herself and the Board of Directors informed of Regional Water's business and affairs, recommending policies to the Board of Directors as required for the efficient and effective operation of the Company.

The GM is responsible for providing adequate budgeting of all resources and the preparation of the annual operating budget for consideration and approval of the Board of Directors. The GM will plan for the retirement of long-term obligations, payment of current debts, and the establishment of adequate reserves for replacements and operations. This is be accomplished in accordance with modern accounting, purchasing, and record keeping standards and are subject to annual audit.

The GM will establish methods and improvements to the organization and existing procedures to limit operating costs and will ensure the adequacy of the physical infrastructure to provide a water supply that meets the requirements of existing and potential customers.

The GM will pursue all available avenues and resources to stay current with the state of the water and wastewater industries and to maintain and enhance the quality of those services offered by Regional Water.

Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, and Project Management experience and education are beneficial to applicants for this position. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with the selected applicant's experience and qualifications.
