GENERAL MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE

To provide overall leadership and strategic management of the company's business operations, ensuring operational efficiency, revenue growth, profitability, employee performance, customer satisfaction, and achievement of organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic and operational leadership across all departments.

Develop and execute business strategies, plans, budgets, and performance targets.

Oversee daily business operations and ensure effective coordination between departments.

Lead and monitor the performance of senior managers, department heads, and teams.

Drive revenue growth, profitability, cost optimization, and business expansion.

Monitor sales, procurement, inventory, finance, operations, and customer service performance.

Establish and enforce operational systems, controls, processes, and performance standards.

Review business performance and provide regular reports and recommendations to Management.

Identify business risks, operational challenges, and growth opportunities and implement appropriate solutions.

Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders.

Lead organizational improvement, restructuring, and change initiatives where required.

Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.

Participate in senior-level recruitment, employee development, performance management, and succession planning.

Represent the company in important business meetings and external engagements.

Perform other strategic and operational duties assigned by Management.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

15–20 years of proven professional experience in General Management, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related senior leadership position.

Proven experience serving as a General Manager or in an equivalent senior management role.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Operations, or a related field.

MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

Strong track record of managing multiple departments and large teams.

Demonstrated ability to achieve revenue, profitability, operational, and business growth targets.

Strong financial, commercial, analytical, and strategic management skills.

Excellent leadership, decision-making, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong knowledge of business operations, budgeting, performance management, risk management, and organizational development.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and business management/reporting tools.

High level of integrity, accountability, professionalism, discipline, and confidentiality.

Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions independently.

PREFERRED INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Experience in trading, manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, retail, or other commercially driven businesses will be strongly preferred.
