General Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead and develop our steel fabrication business through its next phase of growth.

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for the overall performance of the business, including operations, Sales, production, people, quality, health & safety, commercial performance and customer relationships over 3 sites in Galway.

The successful candidate will combine strong operational leadership with commercial awareness and a hands-on understanding of the steel fabrication industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the business.
• Drive and Develop Sales
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.
• Manage production, fabrication, procurement, scheduling, logistics and project delivery.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement across the business.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within budget.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Monitor financial performance, budgets, margins and operational KPIs.
• Lead, motivate and develop the management and wider workforce.
• Ensure the highest standards of health & safety, quality and compliance are maintained.
• Identify opportunities for new business, market development and increased production capacity.
• Work closely with the commercial and estimating functions to ensure profitable project delivery.
• Promote a positive, accountable and high-performance company culture.

About You

We are looking for an accomplished manager with a strong background in Business development and Business management

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in a senior management or General Manager role.
• Experience developing and building sales.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• A strong focus on quality, safety, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• The ability to make sound commercial decisions and take ownership of business performance.
• A practical, hands-on leadership style combined with strong strategic thinking.
