General Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the overall business operations and growth of our financial solutions business.

Reporting directly to the Management, you will be responsible for the Company's overall business performance, profitability, operational effectiveness, portfolio quality and people leadership. The role oversees multiple functions including financing operations, sales, credit assessment, collections, finance, customer service and other supporting departments.

This is a senior leadership position suited for an individual with strong experience in financial services, lending, financing, credit or related industries, who is comfortable balancing business growth with risk management and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the Company's overall business strategy, operational plans and growth initiatives.
• Take overall responsibility for business performance, revenue, profitability and P&L.
• Drive sustainable growth across the Company's financing and related business portfolios.
• Monitor business performance, financial results, portfolio quality and operational KPIs.
• Oversee credit assessment, approval frameworks and overall credit risk management.
• Monitor delinquency, collection performance, recovery rates and portfolio quality.
• Work closely with Sales, Credit, Collection and Operations teams to improve business performance and operational efficiency.
• Review business processes and implement improvements to increase productivity, service quality and turnaround time.
• Establish effective internal controls, governance and risk-management practices.
• Ensure Company operations comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, internal policies and licensing requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop Department Heads and the management team.
• Establish departmental targets and ensure accountability for performance.
• Resolve major operational, customer, interdepartmental and business-related issues.
• Manage relationships with key business partners, financial institutions, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and present business performance, financial and operational reports to Management.
• Support the Company's longer-term expansion, organisational development and future growth plans.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in financial services, lending, financing or a related industry.

• At least 3–5 years of senior management experience.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly advantageous:

  • Consumer or personal financing
  • SME or business financing
  • Hire purchase
  • Credit management
  • Collections and recovery
  • Non-bank financial services

• Proven experience in P&L management, business growth and operational leadership.

• Strong understanding of credit risk, portfolio management and collection performance.

• Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to analyse business and portfolio performance.

• Strong leadership and people-management skills with experience managing multiple departments or business functions.

• Able to make sound commercial decisions while maintaining appropriate risk and compliance controls.

• Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills.

• Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing organisation.

• High level of integrity, accountability and professional judgement.
