Northside Enterprise Inc. is a certified NDIS service provider dedicated to empowering people with disabilities.
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven General Manager to lead our organisation into its next stage of growth, sustainability and impact. As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading an inclusive and values-driven organisation committed to empowering people with disability, strengthening inclusion and creating positive outcomes for the people and communities we support.
Based in Sydney on the Northern Beaches, Northside is a leading Not for Proft, in providing best practice and quality supports for individuals with disabilities. Operating for more than 30 years, Northside provides a wide range of person-centred, inclusive programs that focus on support, care and upskilling, community engagement and supported employment. We exist to support individuals living with disabilities to live fulfilling, vibrant, and active lives as valued and included members of the community.
About the role
Reporting to the Chair of the Northside Management Committee, the General Manager serves as the principal executive leader for Northside and is accountable for the effective and efficient delivery of disability services and for progressing the strategic objectives of the organisation. The role balances day-to-day operational management with strategic leadership, ensuring the organisation maintains strong financial and operational performance. The position is offered on a full-time basis; however, Northside is open to considering a part-time arrangement for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the implementation of Northside's strategic direction and organisational priorities.
- Provide strong, collaborative leadership to the Northside Leadership Team.
- Build a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven organisational culture.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, service quality and participant outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, services and organisational performance.
- Provide strong financial leadership, including budgeting, financial performance, resource management and sustainable revenue growth.
- Identify opportunities to grow and diversify Northside's services, revenue and community impact.
- Ensure strong NDIS compliance, safeguarding, quality, governance and risk management.
- Build trusted relationships with participants, families, employees, community partners, funders, government and sector stakeholders.
- Represent and promote Northside within the broader community and disability sector.
- Work closely with the Management Committee to support effective governance, strategic decision-making and long-term organisational sustainability.
About you
- Senior leadership experience within the disability services sector.
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the NDIS environment, including quality, compliance, safeguarding and service delivery requirements.
- Experience leading an organisation or significant operational function through growth, change and continuous improvement.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, ideally including experience in a not-for-profit environment.
- Experience working effectively within a Board or Management Committee governance structure.
- A demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and develop leadership capability.
- Experience identifying and implementing sustainable strategies for participant and revenue growth.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinking combined with strong operational discipline and accountability.
- High integrity, sound judgement and a collaborative, values-led leadership style.
- Lived experience of disability is highly regarded but not essential.
Most importantly, you will have a genuine commitment to inclusion, empowerment and achieving high-quality outcomes for people with disability and their families.
If you are an experienced senior leader who is motivated by meaningful work and wants to make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
