General Manager

About the role

The General Manager, Singapore is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, operational performance, and profitability of the Singapore business. The incumbent will lead the business unit in achieving its financial, operational, and commercial objectives while ensuring sustainable growth, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong leadership capabilities, deep knowledge of the precast concrete industry, and a comprehensive understanding of Singapore's construction market. The successful candidate should possess an established network within the construction industry and a proven track record in business management, operational excellence, and revenue growth.

The General Manager will work closely with key stakeholders, customers, and the regional leadership team to drive business performance and strengthen the company's market position in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall performance of the Singapore business, ensuring the achievement of strategic, operational, and financial objectives.
• Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
• Oversee business development activities and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, government agencies, and key customers.
• Assume full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance management.
• Oversee the operations of the business, including production, project delivery, quality, logistics, and customer service.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and motivate the management team and workforce to achieve business goals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Represent the Company in industry engagements and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the construction, precast concrete, building materials, or related industry.
• At least 8 years of senior management experience with full business leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record in managing a profit centre and delivering business growth and profitability.
• Strong understanding of Singapore's construction and infrastructure sector.
• Extensive network with developers, main contractors, consultants, architects, and relevant industry stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, operational management, business development, and financial management.
• Strong commercial acumen and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
