General Manager

About the role

The General Manager, Australia holds full responsibility for the operational, commercial, and financial performance of Kalgin Global Logistics' Australian business. Leading the national functional team, Import, Export, Customs and Commercial, across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, the role drives the growth, optimisation and long-term strategic development of all Australian operations in alignment with Kalgin's K2030 Group Strategic Plan. The GM Australia is accountable for setting and owning the Australian budget and P&L, managing overheads, building a high-performance culture, and elevating Kalgin Australia to be a major contributor to Group EBITDA.

Key responsibilities

· Lead the execution of the K2030 vision for Australia, including footprint expansion and revenue diversification

· Grow the Australian business — revenue, gross profit and EBITDA — in line with Kalgin's K2030 strategic targets

· Own the full Australian budget and P&L — setting budgets, managing overheads, and driving revenue growth and cost discipline

· Set and lead the Australian commercial strategy through the National Commercial Manager, directing the BDM and key account management teams

· Lead and optimise the end-to-end performance of the national Import, Export and Customs functions across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne

· Lead, mentor and develop the Australian Leadership Team and the wider Australian team

· Champion technology as a key driver of improved productivity, customer experience and operational accuracy

· Ensure full compliance with Group policies and procedures across all Australian operations

· Identify, monitor and mitigate operational, commercial and people risks; ensure mitigation plans are in place

· Report regularly to the Group Managing Director on performance, risks, opportunities and progress toward strategic milestones

About you

· Deep experience in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain leadership

· Proven P&L ownership experience at a senior or national level

· Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management, overheads control and financial analysis

· Experience leading multi-branch or multi-region operations & commercial teams

· Inspirational leadership with the ability to energise, mentor and develop large teams

· Strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills

· Strategic thinker who can translate long-term vision into operational execution

· Results-driven, analytical, and confident in data-informed decision-making

· Highly collaborative, able to build strong relationships across Group leadership teams

· Demonstrated resilience, adaptability and change leadership capability

Pay: $160,000.00 – $190,000.00 per year
