GENERAL MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced, commercially aware, and highly organised Group General Manager (GGM) to provide group-wide operational leadership, performance monitoring, management reporting, and business coordination across the Group and its subsidiaries.

The Group General Manager will work directly with the Group CEO and the Heads of the various subsidiaries and business operations to maintain clear visibility of business performance, operational challenges, emerging risks, management actions and progress towards organisational objectives.

The GGM will receive and review regular reports from subsidiaries and seek clarification where necessary, validate important information, follow up on agreed business actions, and provide the Group CEO with accurate and meaningful management information for decision-making.

KEY DELIVERABLES

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver:

● Accurate and timely group-level management reports.

● Reliable visibility of subsidiary performance and operational conditions.

● Effective communication between the Group CEO and subsidiary/business heads.

● Timely identification of significant operational issues and risks.

● Effective follow-up on Group CEO directives and business action points.

● Clear reporting of unresolved or escalating matters.

● Regular and meaningful engagement with subsidiaries and operational locations.

● Practical management insights and recommendations based on verified information.

● Improved accountability and operational discipline across the group.

● Effective use of centralised support resources in carrying out group management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

● Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, Finance,Economics, accounting, operations, or a related discipline.

● Minimum of 10 years' relevant professional experience.

● Significant experience in general management, business operations,performance management, multi-unit management, or a related senior management position.

● At least 5 years in a senior management, business unit, regional,operational, or general management role.

● Proven experience working across multiple business units, subsidiaries,branches, or geographically distributed operations.

● Strong experience preparing, reviewing, and interpreting management and operational reports.

● Demonstrable experience monitoring performance and following up on management actions.

● Experience working directly with CEOs, MDs, executive directors, business heads, or senior management teams.

● Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving ability.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Strong organisational and follow-through skills.

PREFERED

● Experience in telecommunications, technology, fintech, digital services,retail, distribution, or other multi-location businesses.

● Previous experience within a group structure with multiple subsidiaries or business entities.

● Experience supporting CEOs or senior executives in group-level management and operational matters.

● MBA or postgraduate qualification in business administration, Management,Operations, finance, or a related field.

● Relevant professional qualification in management, finance, operations, project management, or business administration.

● Experience using ERP, CRM, business intelligence, MIS, or other management reporting systems.
