General Manager

Western Arctic Business Development Corporation (WABDC) is a nonprofit organization supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs across the Beaufort-Delta region.

We’re hiring a General Manager to oversee daily operations, staff, finances and business lending services. This position reports to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations, supervise staff and oversee budgets.
• Oversee business loan assessments, repayment monitoring and client support.
• Prepare reports for the Board and funders.
• Manage funding agreements and maintain accurate financial records.
• Build relationships with communities, Indigenous organizations and business partners.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, economic development or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
• At least five years of relevant experience in business development, commercial lending or financial management, including two years supervising staff or managing operations.
• Strong budgeting, financial analysis, communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Understanding of northern communities and business conditions. Experience with a nonprofit Board, Community Futures or an Indigenous organization is an asset.

This position is based in Inuvik and requires regional travel and occasional evening or weekend work.

Pay: $90,064.00-$110,032.00 per year
