About Seven Districts Coffee

At Seven Districts Coffee, we are passionate about specialty coffee, local Lincolnshire heritage, and creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Tucked just off the vibrant Bailgate in historic uphill Lincoln, our St Paul's Lane venue is a high-footfall hub known for outstanding espresso, curated food, craft beverages, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

We are looking for a enthusiastic, hands-on, and customer-focused General Manager to lead our site, drive operations, and champion our passion for high-quality specialty coffee.

Role Overview

As the Manager of our Bailgate store, you will oversee day-to-day operations, lead a talented team of baristas and front-of-house staff, and ensure high standards of service, quality control, and cleanliness. You will maintain strong customer relationships, manage local inventory, and foster a warm, inclusive community space for both regulars and tourists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead, train, and inspire baristas and front-of-house team members, fostering a positive workplace culture and maintaining service standards.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee all daily operations, opening/closing procedures, and floor management during peak busy hours.
  • Specialty Coffee & Food Standards: Ensure drink quality control, maintaining dialed-in grinders, precise espresso extraction, and smooth workflow during peak hours.
  • Customer Experience: Drive customer loyalty by delivering friendly, knowledgeable service and resolving customer feedback proactively.
  • Stock & Inventory: Manage ordering, stock rotation, waste reduction, and inventory levels for specialty coffee beans, milk, food items, and consumables.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain Food Hygiene (EHO) standards, Health & Safety compliance, and thorough daily cleaning routines.
  • Commercial Drive: Assist with shift rotas, labor cost management, and local promotional events or seasonal menu launches.

Key Requirements & Experience

  • Management Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Manager, Assistant Manager, or Supervisor in a busy coffee shop or hospitality setting.
  • Coffee Passion: Proven barista experience and a solid understanding of specialty coffee standards, extraction, and milk-texturing techniques.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong communication skills with an ability to motivate and mentor a team under pressure.
  • Operational Knowledge: Familiarity with POS systems, stock control, food safety practices, and rota scheduling.
  • Local Appeal: Energetic, approachable, and proud to represent a local Lincolnshire brand.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Benefits:
