General Manager - Construction

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the paving and sealing company and ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, professionally, and according to company standards. This position requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations, including paving, sealing, repairs, scheduling, and crews.
• Manage and supervise employees, ensuring proper training, performance, and adherence to company procedures.
• Schedule jobs and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and customer needs.
• Communicate with customers regarding estimates, scheduling, job progress, and concerns.
• Review completed work to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
• Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Monitor job costs, productivity, materials, and overall profitability.
• Assist with estimating, pricing, and reviewing job proposals when needed.
• Ensure employees follow all safety requirements and company policies.
• Maintain proper use, care, and scheduling of company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Coordinate with management on staffing, purchasing, production, and business decisions.
• Help identify areas for improvement and implement procedures to increase efficiency and quality.
• Ensure jobs are completed within the scheduled timeframe and meet company expectations.
• Provide leadership and direction to all field and office staff as needed.
• Perform other duties necessary for the successful operation of the company.

Qualifications:

• Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in paving, asphalt, sealcoating, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs, employees, and customer needs at the same time.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to make decisions and handle challenging situations professionally.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment and adjust to changing schedules and weather conditions.

The General Manager is expected to lead by example, maintain a professional attitude, and represent the company in a positive manner with employees, customers, vendors, and the community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
