General Manager – India

Job Purpose

• This is a leadership opportunity to drive manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, localisation and commercial growth in India along with execution of the company’s long-term expansion strategy.

Company Background

• A European MNC in the hydraulics and industrial components manufacturing sector with existing India business of approximately INR 10 Crores

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall development of the India business.
• Execute the local business plan aligned with company strategy.
• Represent the company with customers, suppliers and institutions.
• Manage production ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Industrialize new products transferred from Europe.
• Support sales growth and long-term customer relationships.
• Develop Indian suppliers for global sourcing.
• Implement localization and cost reduction initiatives.
• Build and manage a local engineering team supporting European R&D.
• Full P&L responsibility including revenue, EBITDA, cash generation and working capital.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company EHS standards.
• Recruit, develop and motivate the local team.

Candidate Profile

• Engineering degree.
• 10–15+ years of industrial leadership experience.
• Strong manufacturing and operations background.
• Experience in hydraulics, off-highway or precision industrial components manufacturing.
• Previous experience in the design, manufacturing or commercialization of hydraulic valves and fluid power components is highly desirable.
• Must have Greenfield/ Brownfield factory expansion experience.
• Proven P&L management.
• Leadership and commercial skills.
