General Manager - Restaurant

A well-established, high-volume, full-service restaurant in Oakland County is conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Manager to assume full operational responsibility for the business.

This is a senior leadership position with substantial authority over both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. We are seeking a proven restaurant professional who can lead the entire operation, make sound decisions independently, and be accountable for financial and operational results.

The Position

The General Manager will have responsibility for:

• Complete day-to-day restaurant operations
• Leadership of both front-of-house and kitchen management
• Hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and managing employees
• Maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency and guest service
• Managing food costs, labor costs, purchasing, inventory and waste
• Reviewing sales, payroll and operating results
• Managing vendors and negotiating purchasing arrangements
• Maintaining strong inventory, cash, comp and loss-prevention controls
• Developing and holding the management team accountable
• Maintaining cleanliness, food safety and regulatory compliance
• Identifying opportunities to improve sales, profitability and operating efficiency
• Providing ownership with regular financial and operational reporting

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a career restaurant professional and hands-on operator, not simply a front-of-house manager.

Qualified candidates should have significant leadership experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, preferably as a General Manager, Managing Partner, Director of Operations or comparable senior restaurant executive.

Candidates must understand the financial side of restaurant operations, including food cost, labor cost, purchasing, inventory, payroll, waste and profitability, and have demonstrated experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

The successful candidate will be given significant operating authority and autonomy and will be expected to take ownership of results.

Compensation & Benefits

$100,000 annual base salary

Performance-based bonus opportunity tied to agreed-upon financial and operating objectives, including profitability, food and labor cost management, sales performance and guest-service standards.
